YOUR KHUTBAH Seek peace for a better society

ABU DHABI // This week’s sermon calls on worshippers to seek peace in their communities and to help build a safe society.
It advises people to act peacefully with everyone around them.
“Muslims, Allah has created humans to build states and ordered them to achieve safety and security,” the sermon says.
“He asked for humans to promote peace, for Allah is blessed with the name of peace.
“He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Peace, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.”
The sermon will remind worshippers that the Prophet Mohammed wished for peace after every prayer.
“The Prophet would say: ‘Oh Allah, You are peace, and peace is from You, be blessed O Glorious and Honourable.’ He also advised people to seek peace to remain always at peace,” the sermon reads.
Peace and tranquillity is a necessity for human society to function, the sermon says.
It secures love between families, promotes reconciliation between disputing parties and helps people resist harming each other.
Peace is also a commandment that Allah gave to his prophets.
Hence, the sermon will recount the story of the Prophet Ibrahim’s attempts to convert his father.
When his father refused to join the religion, he did not intimidate his father or terrorise him, but used the language of peace.
As the Quran says: “[Ibrahim] said, ‘Peace will be upon you. I will ask forgiveness for you of my Lord. Indeed, He is ever gracious to me.’ ”

The Story Of How An-Najjaashee Became The King Of Abyssinia

The Story Of How An-Najjaashee Became The King Of Abyssinia

* Concerning an-Najjaashee’s refusal to surrender the Muslims in his land to the Mushrikoon from Quraish, and his refusal to accept gifts to bribe him to do that:-
* az-Zuhree said: “I had this hadeeth narrated by “Urwah ibn az-Zubayr (rahimahullaah): from Umm Salamah (radiyallaahu “anhaa). So “Urwah said: “Do you know what he (i.e. an-Najjaashee) meant by his saying: “Allaah did not take any bribe from me, when He restored my kingdom to me, such that I should accept any bribe to keep my kingdom; And Allaah did not do what the people wanted with regard to me, such that I should obey the people against Him.” ?
So I said; “No.”… So then “Urwah explained it, saying:  ”Aa’ishah (radiyallaahu ‘anhaa) narrated to me that:
<< His father was previously king of his people, and he had a brother, and his brother had twelve sons. But the father of an-Najjaashee had no child besides an-Najjaashee.
So the people of Abyssinia started plotting together and they said: We ought to kill the father of an-Najjaashee, and give the kingship to his brother, then his brother has twelve sons. So then later they can inherit the kingship and the Abyssinian people will remain for a long time without any infighting between them. So they attacked (the king) and killed him, and they made his brother king.
So then an-Najjaashee entered upon his uncle, and he impressed him so much that he consulted nobody else besides him, and he was found to be a person of intellect and firm resolve.
So when the rest of the Abyssinians saw the status which he now had with his uncle they said: This boy has got the better of his uncle now, so we do not feel safe that he will not make him king over us (after himself), and he knows that we have killed his father. So if that happens, he will not leave a single noble amongst us except he will kill him.
So they went to his uncle and said: You know that we killed his father, and put you in his place; and we do not feel safe that he will not become king over us (after you). So either you kill him, or you banish him from our land.
He said, “Woe to you, you killed his father yesterday, and now I have to kill him today! Rather I will send him away from your land.”
So they took him away, and put him in the market place; and they sold him as a slave to a trader from the traders who threw him into a ship, having bought him for 600 or 700 dirhams.
Then he departed with him.
Then when it was the evening of that same day some clouds from the autumn clouds appeared. So his uncle went out to enjoy the rain, but he was struck by a lightening bolt which killed him.
So the people quickly went to his children, but they found that they were stupid people. There was not a single one that had any good in him. So the affair of the Abyssinians was thrown into confusion.
So some of them said to others:
“You know, by Allaah, that the only one who is suitable to be king over you is the one who you sold this morning. So if you have any concern for the affair of the Abyssinians, then go and get him before he leaves.”
So they went searching for him. So they found him and they brought him back; and they placed the crown upon his head, and they sat him upon his throne, and they made him the king.
But the trader (came and) said: “Give me back my money, for you have taken my slave!”
They said: “We will not give you anything.”
So the trader said, “Then by Allaah, I will go and speak to him.”
So he went to him and spoke to him, and said: “O king! I bought a slave and the people who sold him to me took the price, but then they seized the slave and took him away from me, and they won”t give me my money back.” So this was the first case that was seen from the firmness, wisdom, and justice of an- Najjaashee that he said:
“You must either give him his money back; or hand over his slave to him so that he may take him wherever he wants.”
So the people said: “Rather we will give him his money.” So they gave it to him.
So this is why ((when the Najjaashee did not surrender the Muslims, and did not accept the bribe from the Quraish to hand over the Muslims)), he said:
“Allaah did not take any bribe from me, when He restored my kingdom to me, such that I should take any bribe to keep my kingdom; And Allaah did not do what the people wanted with regard to me, such that I should obey the people against Him.”
Shaikh al- Albaanee mentioned that it is reported by Ibn Hishaam in his abridgement of Ibn Ishaaq”s “Seerah” (1/363-364), and by Aboo Nu”aym in “ad-Dalaa.il” (pp.81- 84), and that its chain of narration is “hasan”.
* – This is the same one, an- Najjaashee, who sent a message to the Prophet (sallallaahu “alaihi-wa sallam) to say that he had accepted Islaam; and he died upon Islaam (radiyallaahu “anhu).
- Then Ibn Ishaaq reports through his chain of narration from “Aa.ishah that when an- Najjaashee died that the people mentioned that light was continually seen over his grave. Shaikh al-Albaanee said its chain is hasan (good).
- He is the one who is mentioned in al-Bukhaaree and Muslim in a hadeeth of Aboo Hurairah (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) that when he died, the Prophet (sal Allaahu alaihi wa sallam) was told through Revelation, and that he ordered the Companions to form rows and he prayed the Funeral Prayer for him, as no one in his land prayed the Funeral Prayer for him.

The Fair Females with wide lovely eyes –The Women of Paradise

The reason behind the description of the women of Paradise is so that one is made eager to perform righteous actions.

The beauty of the Hoor Al-Ain (the fair females with wide lovely eyes in Jannah) is neither viewed from one perspective nor is any mind able to comprehend it. Those fair females with wide lovely eyes combine between beauty in their physical form, beauty in all aspects and good manners. One is amazed by their beauty whenever he glances at them because their beauty is always renewed. They have that glitter in their smile for their husbands that does not have a likeness in this worldly life; so what does one think if he were to kiss them and tastes the enjoyment from that kiss?
Sexual intercourse in this worldly life becomes tiresome and leads to weakness after some time as opposed to sexual intercourse with the women of paradise; because sexual intercourse with the women of Paradise makes a person more lively and active, and the man’s wife in Paradise will neither be bored nor tired with him. Likewise the virginity of the women of Paradise will not be lost permanently like the virginity of the women of this worldly life, rather whenever the women of Paradise are disvirgined, their virginities are renewed and the man’s reproductive organ is always erected. The men of paradise are given the strength of hundred men put together; so whoever preserves his private parts, guards his eye sight and his hearing from the forbidden, he will be from the people with the most strength in Paradise and he will receive the most enjoyment in sexual intercourse.
Likewise, sometimes argumentation, differing and trouble takes place between married couples leading to divorce; however none of this will take place between the spouses in Paradise.

Ethics for the Recitation and Listening of the Qur'an

I wanted to post some information that has been gathered about the ethics or behavior that is expected when one is reciting and listening the Holy Book.

First about Reciting.

Imam al Ghazali has pointed out vital actions that a person should adhere to when he recites the Qur'an:

  1. Understanding the glorification of the literal words of Allah. (Be aware of what he is saying)

  2. Glorify the speaker (of the Qur'an)

  3. Being aware of and abandoning any inner thoughts or calls that are made by the self or other

  4. Thinking and pondering over the subject of the ayat being recited

  5. Knowing the meaning of the ayat being recited

  6. Avoiding the following: Too much concentration on the pronunciation of the letters to the detriment of understanding the ayat. Blind imitation of a school of thought ;Persistence in sin because of pride and slavery of passion

  7. Considering every part of the Qur'an being read is meant personally for the reciter

  8. Developing internal feelings hope and grief/fear of the message being recited from the Qur'an.

  9. Creating the impression that the reciter is hearing te literal words of Allah from Allah and not from himself.

  10. Avoiding any sense of reciter's ability and power by looking at himself with a feeling of satisfaction or purity above the words being recited.
Imam Ghazali emphasized alot on reciting being a 'high worship' of Allah and in order for it to be so the reader must be aware of what he is saying so that it changes the state of the person reciting. He said: "Recitation of the Qur'an in its real sense is an activity in which the tongue, intellect, and mind all take part together. The tongue is the exhorter, the intellect is the translator (of what is understands of the exhortation), and the mind is that which accepts the exhortation."

Mission alasiraatalmustaqeem Revive the Ways of the Prophet,His Sunnah! WEEK 1

Allah says  in the Guide (The Quran)

Sahih International
Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah , then follow me (Mohammed), [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."

This concept of Reviving thelost  sunnah was in some kind of way was in the back of my mind and after attenting sister Qadria 's class  (Al Huda Sister) on the Sunnah of the  Prophet the determination came! .However Allah Subhanallah wa ta'ala  has His most pervading way !Sister Alina gave me the great Idea of the How today ! May Allah Bless Her.

IN BRIEF
we will post a Sunnah every week on Friday and throughout the week INshALLAH let us all try to apply it as much as we can.I would love your feedback on how easy/difficult it is to do it InshALLAH. but the goal is to incorporate this sunnah forever in your life not on a weekly basis obviously

WEEK1

keep your children in ,Close your doors and windows

covers your vessels  at night while saying bismillah

It was narrated from Jaabir ibn ‘Abd-Allaah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When the wings of the night spread – or when evening comes – keep your children in, for the devils come out at that time. Then when part of the night has passed, let them go. And close the doors and mention the name of Allaah, for the shaytaan does not open a closed door. And tie up your waterskins and mention the name of Allaah, and cover your vessels and mention the name of Allaah, even if you only put something over them, and extinguish your lamps.”

Narrated by al-Bukhaari (3280) and Muslim (2012). A version narrated by Muslim says:
“Cover vessels, tie up waterskins, close doors and extinguish lamps, for the shaytaan does not undo waterskins or open doors or uncover vessels.”

Nb:
Sister Qadria renowned  Dai from Kuwait (May Allah Bless her) explained that the lamps mentioned in the hadith(  applied to the candles or those used in the older days with gas ) therefore there was a need to extinguish them
.However today we have the electrical lamps so those are excluded from the ruling since they are safe.

From the hadeeth of Aboo Hurayrah (ra) from the Prophet (saw),
Verily Allaah sends for this ummah at the end of every 100 years, people who revive their religion for them.”
and I humbly Pray Allah to be of them. what are we waiting for???
