Memorisation or Fahm (Understanding) – Which Takes Preference?

Asalama Laykum sister this Ramadan who what to do!

Our brother in Islaam, Hasan as-Sumaalee, whilst delivering the weekly class with us on The Three Fundamental Principles, recalls a question asked to the late Scholar, Ahmad an-Najmee (rahimahullaah) concerning giving preference to hifdh (memorisation) or fahm (understanding). An inspiring khutbah explaining the reasons why people fall astray.
Questions posed to Shaykh Ahmad an-Najmee:
All praise is due to Allaah, the Lord of the whole of the creation. To proceed: These questions are from one of the Salafi brothers in Qatar. I ask Allaah that he grant us and him success in achieving all that is good and that he distances us and him from all that is evil and harmful.
The questioner says:
“If a student of knowledge was to read a text from the Islamic religious texts and he understood it without memorising it, is this sufficient for him? Also, is it (correct) for him to move on to another text or is it necessary to memorise the text he has studied and understand the issues that his shaykh has mentioned, benefit us may you be rewarded?
The most important thing is to understand the text and understand its meaning. If a person can memorise and understand then this is good but if not then give precedence is given to understanding, precendence is given to understanding.
The Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
May Allah brighten the face of His servants who hears my words, remembers [or preserves] them, guards them, and hands them on. Many a transmitter of knowledge does not himself understand it, and many may transmit knowledge to others who are more versed in it than they. The heart of a Muslim shall never harbor vindictive feelings against three things: sincerity in deeds made for Allah’s sake; faithfulness to Muslims; and conformity to the community of believers. For truly their supplication encompasses the rest of the people.[2]
From another angle, then verily what has been memorised will eventually be forgotten and normally lost but as for understanding then it remains.
From a third angle: then merely memorising words without understanding the meaning is of no benefit. We heard a while ago that there was a student of knowledge in Yemen who memorised ar-Rawdah that covers the Fiqh of the Shaafi’ee school of thought, and if he was asked about an issue he would not be able to explain and clarify it.
When the students differed about a matter of Fiqh and they wanted to recall a portion of ar-Rawdah to support their position then they would call this student. They would say: Read for us such and such a chapter from ar-Rawdah; and he would read it without omitting a letter. So they called him the donkey of ar-Rawdah
The fourth angle: It is upon the student of knowledge to supplicate to Allaah that He bestows upon him the understanding of His Book and the Sunnah of His Prophet, and that he give him understanding of the religion. The Prophet said: ” If Allah wants good for someone, He gives him correct understanding of the religion.” [3]
Question: Is it better to repeat the study of a text from the Islamic religious texts or is it sufficient to study it once and then move on to another text, benefit us may you be rewarded?
Answer: This depends upon the understanding of the student. If the student has a strong understanding and he understands the lesson properly then it is better to move on to another text.
However, if the student’s understanding is weak and he does not understand the text then it is appropriate for him to study it again until he understands it properly. And without a doubt that repeating the text for a second time will consolidate the information….Rather, he mentions that the people of Ahlus-Sunnah are always mentioning the statements of Allaah and his Messenger and the understanding of the Salaf, constantly returning to the ‘Ulaama for understandings.

Taraweh: Eight or Twenty, both are permissible

Asalama laykum my loves....

The people who hold that twenty rakahs Taraweh is a compulsory Sunnah (Sunnah Muakiddah) usually bring forth two arguments, the first being that Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) united the Muslims upon twenty Rakahs behind Ubay Ibn Ka’ab and Tamim Daari. The second being that the four Imams unanimously agreed that twenty Rakahs is Sunnah Muakiddah.
Regarding how many rakahs Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) united the people upon, Imam San’ani says, “There is a difference of opinion in the amount that Ubay Ibn Kab prayed. Some say it was eleven Rakahs, others say it was twenty one Rakahs, others say twenty, others say twenty three and there are other opinions as well,” (Subulus Salaam Vol:2 Page: 356)
So we see that the scholars don’t even agree upon how many Rakahs Umar united the people upon so this can not be a proof.
Regarding the four Imams, Imam Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated the following in his Muwatta, “Umar ibn al-Khattab ordered Ubayy ibn Kab and Tamim ad-Dari to watch the night in prayer with the people for eleven rakats. The reciter of the Qur’an would recite the Mi’in (a group of medium-sized surahs) until we would be leaning on our staffs from having stood so long in prayer. And we would not leave until the approach of dawn,” (Muwatta Malik 6:2:4). This narration also shows that Umar united the people upon eleven Rakahs, not twenty.
Regarding the Hanafi viewpoint, Imam Muhammad, the student of Imam Abu Hanifah, mentions the following narration in his Muwatta, “The Prophet (peace be upon him) would not pray more than eleven Rakahs, neither in Ramadan or out of it (Muwatta Muhammad, Chapter of the Ramadan prayer 71:239)
Imam Muhammad then says, “We (The Hanafis) go according to all of this, there is nothing wrong in praying in the month of Ramadan, the people praying voluntarily with an Imam,” (Muwatta Muhammad, Chaper of the Ramadan prayer 71:241)
This shows that the belief of Imam Abu Hanifah and his students was that Taraweh is optional. The Imams, however, would change their opinions according to evidence so it is possible that they later changed their view to twenty Rakahs.
When the Hadith says eleven Rakahs, it could mean eight Rakahs Taraweh and three Rakahs Witr or ten Rakahs Taraweh and one Rakah Witr, Allah knows best.
So it is clear that Taraweh is optional and each person should read what he is able to, with eleven Rakahs (including the Witr) being the Sunnah. There is nothing wrong with praying twenty Rakahs but to make it compulsory is an innovation with no basis in the Qur’an or Sunnah.
Rather making it obligatory contradicts the Sunnah as, one Ramadan, the Prophet (peace be upon him) stopped praying Taraweh in congregation after three days and explained that he did this because, “I feared the night prayer would become obligatory upon you,” (Saheeh Bukhari 3:32:229) This is clear evidence that the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not regard Taraweh as obligatory.
Allah knows best

Ramadan – Month of Mercy

From among Allah’s greatest blessings to this ummah is the beloved month of Ramadan. The one month in the year in which Muslims are required to fast from dawn to sunset and reap the spiritual rewards. Regarding this month, it is mentioned in the Qur’an that, “O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may develop Taqwa” (Surah Baqara 2:183)
The above verse indicates that the purpose of fasting is to grow spiritually and increase in Taqwa. Taqwa literally means a shield or protection, and in Islam it refers to the quality of God-consciousness. It means to be aware of God at all times and to strive to live such a life in which one does not do anything to displease Him. This quality of Taqwa is highly praised in the Qur’an and is regarded as the primary quality which God looks at for judging who are the best of His Creation, “Indeed the most honored of you in the sight of God is the one with the most Taqwa” (Surah Hujaraat 49:13)
Thus the gaining of Taqwa is no small feat and a great achievement in of itself, at the same time being a means of achieving the pleasure of Allah. This leads to the question then as to why many of us don’t feel this rise in Taqwa during Ramadan. One of the main reasons for this is that very often we do not approach Ramadan with the right mindset. We need to reflect and ask ourselves the following questions, “What do I want to accomplish this Ramadan?” “How can I increase my Taqwa this Ramadan?” and “What can I do to make this Ramadan special?”
Without such internal questioning and reflection, we end up treating Ramadan and fasting as just another ritual. When ritualized, fasting becomes a series of habits without much spiritual benefit. Many Muslims overeat for both the pre-dawn meal and the breaking of the fast, while sleeping much of the day away. Habits like these can seriously jeopardize the spiritual benefits of fasting. Now that we know the goal of fasting and the importance of planning to achieve it, let us look at some practical tips to make this
Ramadan more spiritual and beneficial:
1. Purify your intention: The prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Every deed is judged by its intentions,” (Saheeh Bukhari, 1:1: 1) If we want to benefit from Ramadan then we first need to make a strong intention that we will fast this Ramadan for the sake of Allah seeking an increase in Taqwa, doing whatever we can to become closer to Him. With this intention, it will be easier to keep our eye on our goals and work towards them.
2. Set specific goals and work towards them:
Just saying we want more Taqwa won’t help us get it unless we have a specific plan on how we can achieve it. Set some goals this Ramadan and work on achieving them. Examples of such goals which can assist in increasing our Taqwa include: Reciting the entire Quran with understanding, reading beneficial books, not overeating, giving up bad habits among others. Each person knows their own areas which need improvement and should set their goals accordingly.
3. Ask Allah for His Assistance and do your best:
Finally, we should realize that without Allah’s assistance, nothing is possible. Make dua, ask Allah to help you accomplish your goals this Ramadan then go out there and do your best, knowing that Allah is there to assist you every step of the way.
I pray these few points assist in making this a memorable and life-changing Ramadan for us all.

The Golden key When Advising Others

Asalama laykum sisters
we generally think when advising others that we dont do the same.
Kitna baar maine bola woh meri baat nahin manega ! or the endless complain always the same ya ya ya
Discover the Golden Key to adivse others and InshAllah you should not find any resistance.
jom !!!!

‘Abbaad Ibn ‘Abbaad Al-Khawwaas Ash-Shaamee (d.114h) said:
“Let your attitude be, when finding something you disapprove of in your brothers, as though you are offering help from yourselves to yourselves, and offering sincerity from yourselves to your Lord, and offering sympathy from yourselves to your brothers.
If you do that, then your own faults will be of more concern to you than those of anyone else, and each of you would seek to win over sincere advice from each other. And whoever offers sincere advice to you and submits it from among you, will enjoy your good favours and graces. ‘Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab said concerning this, ‘May Allaah have mercy on the one who brought my faults to my attention.
You yourself love to speak and that what you say (to others) should be put up with. But when the like of what you have said, is said to you, you become angry, being angry with the people concerning their traits that you dislike, while you have the like of these traits. Would you then not like that these traits are held against you?!”

The Hunt of Thought,Ibn Al-Jawzi

Asalama laykum dearz read below
The wisdom behind delaying the answer for a supplication:
It is puzzling your insistence on asking for your desires and when ever they were delayed your insistence increase without thinking that your are not granted what you ask for because of:
  1. Your benefit (for what you have asked could be a harm to you in a way)
  2. Your sins (for the sinner's prayers are not answered)
If it was the second reason, you will have to clear the path of answering from the stains of sins. If it was the first reason then look at what you ask for:
Is it to strengthen your religion, or just a plain earthly desire? If it was only an earthly desire, then know that it is the kindness and the mercy of Allah that delayed it for you, and by your insistence, you are like a child that asks for what harms him and he is denied that for his own good. And if you think that what you asked for is for the benefit of your religion then your benefit could be in delaying it, or the well-being of your faith is by the nonexistence of it.
In other words, the planning of the Truth the Almighty (Allah) is better for you than your own planning, and He could deprive you from what you ask to test your patience. So let Him see from you a determined patience and you will soon see from Him what will give you joy. And when you have cleaned the paths of answering (of supplication) from the stains of sin and was patient about what He has chosen for you, then every thing that happens to you is better for you weather you were given or deprived of what you have requested.

Dead Hearts-Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah

Asalama laykum Sisters May Allah preserves our hearts from afflictions Ameen
a precise, microscopic and detailled diagnosis of Dr ibn qayyim as you can read below
While thousands of Muslims are killed all over the world, and while tens of thousands are imprisoned and tortured for calling to the path of Allah and for enjoining the good and forbidding the evil, most Muslims remain remarkably silent and have no worry except for the material things of life. Their hearts have been filled with the love of this life and the forgetfulness of the Hereafter.
Allah says in the Qur'an"You will indeed find them, of all people, most greedy of life, even more than those who do not believe in Resurrection. Each one of them wishes he could be given a life of a thousand years. But the grant of such life will not save him even a little from due punishment. For Allah sees well all that they do." [Al-Qur'an 2:96]
Many Muslims today have become so much attached to their life that their desire is to dwell among their family, house, money and commerce. They have forgotten that matters of the Hereafter should come before matters of this life and that we must strive to follow the orders of Allah, not just those we find easy and convenient to follow. Some Muslims today claim that it is better to perform extra prayers and extra fasting rather than enjoin the good and forbid the evil or defend the lives of weak Muslims. Such people would even blame the Muslims who strive to perform these obligations.
This is what Ibn al-Qayyim had to say about such people: ''The Shaytan has misled most people by beautifying for them the performance of certain voluntary acts of worship such as voluntary prayers and voluntary fasting while neglecting other obligatory acts of worship such as enjoining the good and eradicating the evil, to the extent that they do not even make the intention of performing them whenever they are able to. Such people are considered by the scholars to be on the bottom of the scale of religion: For the essence of our religion is to perform what Allah ordered us to do. The one who does not perform his obligations is actually worse than the one who performs sins. Anyone having some knowledge about the revelation of Allah, the guidance of the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, and the life of the companions would conclude that those who are pointed at today as the most pious people are in fact the least pious. Indeed, what kind of piety is there in a person who witnesses Allah's sanctities being violated, his religion abandoned, the Sunnah of His Messenger shunned, and yet remains still with a cold heart and a shut mouth. Such a person is like a dumb Shaytan! In the same way the one who talks falsehood is a speaking Shaytan. Isn't the misfortune of Islam due only to those who whenever their life and food are secure, would not care about what happens to the religion? The best among them would offer a sorry face. But if they were challenged in one of the things their heart is attached to like their money, they would spare no efforts to get it back. These people, besides deserving the anger of Allah, are afflicted with the greatest calamity without even knowing it: They have a dead heart. Indeed the more alive a person's heart is, the stronger its anger for the sake of Allah and the more complete his support to Islam and Muslims." [A'lam al-Muwaqqi'in, volume 2, page 176]

TheSigns of Fear of Allah; Its Reasons; Its Fruits and Some Poems.

asalama laykum sisters
read !

THE SIGNS OF FEAR

Know dear Muslim brothers and sisters, we can find out whether we fear Allah or are oblivious of him through some simple tests. Here are some of them:
  • The tongue informs us: if we talk evil, backbite and engage in frivolous gossip, it shows that there is very little concern. We should engage our tongues in the remembrance of Allah, in the recitation of the Qur'an and in circles of knowledge.
  • In the heart we should expel hatred, enmity and jealousy and replace them with well-wishing and care for Muslims.
  • We should be careful of what we put in our stomachs.
  • Our eyes should not wander off to look at haram objects.
  • Our feet should not walk towards haram places.
  • We should not extend our hands for haram purposes.
  • We should be concerned in our good deeds that we don't perform them for anyone else except Allah.

THE REASONS FOR FEARING ALLAH

O servants of Allah, there are many reasons why we should fear. The following is a list of a number of them:
  • the fear of death before repenting;
  • the fear of not living up to one's repentance and breaking one's promise;
  • the fear of not being able to fulfil Allah’s obligations;
  • the fear of losing one's softness in the heart and its hardening;
  • the fear of losing consistency;
  • the fear of allowing temptations to dominate;
  • the fear of Allah making one's self responsible for doing goods deeds because of conceit;
  • the fear of becoming arrogant and egotistical due to the abundance of bounties;
  • the fear of being distracted from Allah by other creation;
  • the fear of being led to an evil ending through excessive bounties;
  • the fear of being punished early (i.e. in this world);
  • the fear of being disgraced at the time of death;
  • the fear of being beguiled by the glitter of this world;
  • the fear of Allah revealing one's secret in one's state of oblivion;
  • the fear of being stamped with a bad death at the time of death;
  • the fear of the pangs of death;
  • the fear of the questions of Munkar and Nakir in the grave;
  • the fear of the punishment of the grave;
  • the fear of the horrors of the horizon (at the time of resurrection);
  • the fear of the awe during the presentation in front of Allah;
  • the fear and the shame of being naked (at the time of resurrection);
  • the fear of being questioned about every little thing in life;
  • the fear of the bridge (over Hell) and its sharpness; the fear of the fire, its chains and its torment;
  • the fear of being deprived of Paradise, the Eternal and everlasting kingdom and abode; and
  • the fear of being deprived of seeing Allah's tremendous visage.
The jurist of Samarkand says that the person who does one good deed should be weary of four things (imagine what a person who commits a sin should be afraid of):
  1. The fear of not being accepted because Allah says, "Allah only accepts from those who fear." [Al-Qur'an 5:27]
  2. The fear of showing off, for Allah says, "They have been instructed to worship Allah sincerely; religion is for him Alone. " [Al-Qur'an 98:5]
  3. The fear of preserving the good deed because Allah says, "Whoever brings a good deed shall have ten times its reward. " [Al-Qur'an 6:161]
  4. The fear of being deserted in performing good deeds, for Allah says, "My reconciliation (with good) is only through Allah; it is upon Him that I trust and it is to Him that I resort." [Al-Qur'an 11:88]

THE FRUITS OF FEAR

Imam al-Ghazali (rahmatullahi 'alayhi) said: "Fear rips away desires and muddens luxuries so that cherished sins become reprehensible, just as a honey lover is repelled by it when he learns that it has poison in it. This is how fear burns desires; disciplines the organs; subordinates the heart and gives it tranquility. It also enables the heart to rid itself of pride, hatred, and envy; and it leaves it absorbed in it (fear). Hence, the heart becomes preoccupied with its own worries and looks towards its best interest in the long run. It is then engaged in only matters like meditation, self-analysis and struggle. It cherishes its time and moments." [Ihya, 4/160]

POEMS

'Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak (rahimahullah) said about fear:
"When night befalls, they endure it
and see it through bowing in ruku.
Fear has released their sleep, so they stand
and acquire security in vigilance."
Hasan ibn Hani (rahimahullah) composed the following (it has been credited to Imam ash-Shafi'i (rahimahullah)):
"Fear Allah and hope for every good thing from Him;
Don't follow your adamant self, lest you regret it;
Remain in between hope and fear
and you will rejoice with the Pardon of Allah if you submit."
[Muajjam al-'Udaba: 17/303 credited to Imam Shafi'i and also in the Divan of Hasan]

Ramadhaan Article For Sisters, By Umm Abdillaah

ASALAMA LAYKUM SISTERS

As Ramadhan is an important opportunity to review the Quran as much as one can, we should also make sure we are practicing Islam inside and outside of Ramadhan, We shouldn’t be “Muslims” only in Ramadhan, A Muslim is someone who COMPLETELY surrenders to Allah. If a sister is not wearing proper hijaab but makes sure she is wearing the proper hijaab(no makeup, plucked eyebrows, jeans etc) in Ramadhan, she should fear Allah and turn to Allah completely and make sure she is fulfilling the conditions of the obligatory hijaab completely. Islam is a comprehensive deen and not part time thing as some people assume.
On the authority of Abu Dharr Jundub ibn Junaadah, and Abu ‘Abd-ir-Rahmaan Mu’aadh bin Jabal (radiAllaahu anhumaa) that the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) said :
Have Taqwaa (Fear) of Allaah wherever you may be, and follow up a bad deed with a good deed which will wipe it out, and behave well towards the people.
It was related by at-Tirmidhee, who said it was a Hasan (Good) Hadeeth, and in some copies it is stated to be aHasan Saheeh Hadeeth.
So Ramadhan is not a time to fear Allah, it is a time to strengthen your fear of Allah. Once, we make sure we are praying our 5 obligatory prayers regularly we should add the nawafil and sunnah prayers. For instance, if you were use to praying 2 rakaat of salat ad-Duhaa, you should make it 4 rakaat during Ramadhan or 8(maximum number of Duhaa prayer).
Ramadhan is also the month of the Quran, Allah azza wa jall says, “The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong).”(Surah al Baqarah:185)
The prophet(salaAllahu alayhi wassalam) said, ““Fasting and the Quran will intercede for the slave on the Day of Resurrection. Fasting will say, ‘O My Rabb! I prevented him from food and desires, so accept my intercession for him.’ And the Quran will say, ‘I prevented him from sleep during the night, so accept my intercession for him.’ He sallaAllahu alayhe wasallam said, ‘And they will (be allowed to) intercede.’”
(Ahmad)
we should review the Quran as much as we can, if one cannot read it properly, then they should review the surahs they know and Allah will reward them! If one cannot read the Quran at all, listening to it helps. We should gain much knowledge even in Ramadhan. For example, we can read articles, ahadeeth, ayaat on fasting. We can read what the scholars have said on fasting and rulings related to it.
May Allah make us from the people of the Quran!! May Allah also make it a proof for us and not against us!

The Dispraise of Hawa, Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah

ASALAMA LAYKUM
"Allah will give shade to seven, on the Day when there will be no shade but His."
These seven persons are:
  1. A just ruler;
  2. A youth who has been brought up in the worship of Allah (i.e. worships Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala sincerely from his childhood);
  3. A man whose heart is attached to the mosques (i.e. he offers the five compulsory salat (prayers) in the mosques);
  4. Two persons who love each other only for Allah's Sake and they meet and part in Allah's Cause only;
  5. A man who refuses the call of a charming woman of noble birth for illegal sexual intercourse with her and says: I am afraid of Allah;
  6. A man who gives charitable gifts so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given (i.e. nobody knows how much he has given in charity); and
  7. A person who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes become flooded with tears.
[Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim. The text is that of al-Bukhari: Sahih al-Bukhari, V.1, Hadith #629]
If you contemplate about the seven whom Allah will shade in the shade of His 'Arsh wherein there is no shade but His, you will find that they deserved that shade because of their opposition to al-hawa. Indeed the Imam having authority and power will not be able to establish justice except by opposing his hawa. And with respect to the youth who prefers the sincere worship of Allah over the urge of his youthfulness, had it not been for the opposition of his hawa, he would not be able to accomplish this state of worship. As to the person whose heart is attached to the mosques, the thing that drove him to this condition is the opposition of al-hawa which invites him to the places of lusts.
Concerning the person who gives charitable gifts secretly so that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given, had it not been for his subduing of his hawa, he would not have been able to attain this state. And the person who was invited by a charming woman of noble birth (to have illegal sexual intercourse with her), feared Allah and opposed his hawa. As to the one who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes become flooded with tears for fearing Him, the thing that made him reach this state is the opposing of his hawa. Consequently, they were saved from being affected by the intense heat of the al-mawqif on the Day of Resurrection and the sweating therein. The people adhering to al-hawa will experience the utmost degree of intense heat and sweating while they are waiting to enter the "prison of al-hawa".
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is the One to be petitioned to grant us protection from the ahwas (pl. of hawa) of ourselves which are inclined to evil, and that He makes our hawa in accordance with what He loves and is acceptable to Him. He has power over all things, and He is most worthy of answering our petition.

Speaking To An Angered Husband

Asalama laykum sisters

it is always that way isnt'it that A says  :kuy jilate hain ,? and B- abi takj shuru nahi kiyab
uf!  blal bla bla!
see ...
Allaah says: “Go, both of you, to Pharoah for he has indeed transgressed all bounds, but speak to him gently, so that perchance he will take heed or fear (Allaah).” [20:43]
In this verse Allaah addresses Prophet Moosaa (as) and tells him to speak to Pharoah in a gentle manner. And who was Pharoah? He was the biggest sinner, the most evil man at that time, the most arrogant oppressor.
My sisters, if a dispute breaks between you and your husband, then know that by you raising your voice when speaking to your husband, you r only increasing him in anger. And the more angry a man gets, the more harder it is for him to cool down.
Your husband, no matter how arrogant he may be, no matter how unjust he may be towards you, he is no where near as oppressive and arrogant as Pharoah. And yet Allaah ordered Moosaa to speak to Pharoah gently, i.e., with kindness.
My sisters, if a dispute breaks out between you and your husband then by you shouting back or giving him attitude, then you r doing nothing but digging a deeper black hole for yourself. If there is one main thing which makes a man really hate his wife, then it is such behaviour. As speaking in such a way will only increase your husband in nothing but anger, the more angry a man gets, the more harder it is for him to cool down.
If you truly wish to be treated in kindness then gentleness is the key. Repress evil with kindness and you will see that he in whose heart was enmity will turn to love. Repressing anger may be hard, but know that “No one humbles himself for the sake of Allaah, but Allaah will raise his status.” [Muslim]
And I end by reminding my sisters that shouting back, giving him attitude, being sarcastic etc., are all characteristics which will only increase your husband in anger. No good will come out of such behaviour and you will only be on the receiving end of an even more angrier husband. Such behaviour will make your husband reciprocate with harshness, rudeness and arrogance. It angers a man beyond limits; and the more angry a man gets, the more harder it is for him to cool down.

Second sermon
Praise be to Allah. I bear witness that there is no deity but Him, having no associates. I also bear witness that our Master Muhammad is His Servant and Messenger, may the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his pure family, his companions and all those who will follow them in righteousness till the Day of Judgment.
As to what follows, please fear Allah by observing Him whether in secret or in public, ( part edited), Allah the most Exalted ordered us to protect ourselves by avoiding everything that may cause harm, be it a word or action.
One source of threat that is medically proven is smoking; it affects both hearts and lungs and causes cancer. It also hurts those who are around the smoker, a kind of situation that recalls in mind the Hadith saying, “there should be neither harming nor reciprocating harm.” Moreover, such a [deadly] habit not only kills one’s health, but also makes him poor, a further reason to confirm the size of its harm.
Dear Servants of Allah,
Bear in mind that you are asked to offer prayer and greetings upon our most noble Prophet pbuh for Allah says, "Indeed, Allah and His angels sends blessing upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace." (Al Ahzab: 56).
 blessing on me will receive ten blessings from Allah." May the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon our Master Muhammad pbuh, his family and all his Companions.
May Allah be pleased with the Rightly Guided Caliphs and all those who will follow them in righteousness till the Day of Judgment.
O Allah, may we ask You to help us with what gets us closer to Paradise and furthers us from hell. O Allah we seek Your grace to admit us, our parents, whoever has done a favour to us and all Muslims to Your Paradise.  O Allah guide us to perform good work and give up misdeeds.
O Allah, make Iman (faith) beloved to us and beautify it in our hearts, and make us hate disbelief, immorality and disobedience. O Allah, I seek from You guidance, virtue, purification of the soul and being self-sufficient. O Allah, let us see the Truth as Truth and grant that we follow it. And let us see Falsehood as Falsehood and grant that we avoid it.
May Allah also mend our intentions, grant that our spouses and our offspring be a joy to our eyes and make success be an ally to us. O Allah, we seek Your favour to raise our status, increase our good deeds, remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous.
O Allah, we implore You at this instant not to let a sin unforgiven, a distress unrelieved, an illness unhealed or a handicapped without relief, a dead without
mercy or a debt unsettled. Our Lord, give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire.
May Allah grant our leader HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Deputy, HH Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, success and provide strength and assistance to his brothers, Their Highness The Rulers of the Emirates, and his trustworthy Crown Prince HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
O Allah, forgive all of the Muslims, men and women, living and dead, and make blessings follow us and them. May Allah have mercy on Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Maktoum and all their brothers, the Late UAE Sheikhs. O Lord, forgive and show mercy, You are the Ever Merciful and there is no strength or power save with Allah, the High, the Great.
We pray to Allah, the Most Gracious, to continue blessing the UAE and all Muslim countries with safety and security.

O servants of Allah, remember Allah and He will remember you. Be grateful for His benevolence He will increase His blessings to you. Allah, the Most High, says, "And establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do." (Al Ankaboot: 45).
