Ruling on using the words 'if' or 'if only'. When it is acceptable, and when is it not allowed.

Question: A man said, ’If only you had done such and such, none of this would have happened to you.“

Another man who heard him said, ’This word (if only) was forbidden by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), it is a word that leads the one who says it to kufr.“

A third man said, ’The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, concerning the story of Moosa with al-Khidr, …May Allaah have mercy upon Moosa. If only he had had patience, so that Allaah would have told us more of what happened between them.‘“

Another man referred to the hadeeth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), ’ The strong believer is more beloved to Allaah than the weak believer—…If only“ opens the door to the Shaytaan.“ Does this abrogate that, or not?

Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.
Everything that Allaah and His Messenger said is truth. The word …if‘ or …if only‘ is used in two ways:
1. To express grief for the past and distress what has been decreed. This is what is not allowed, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
’O you who believe! Be not like those who disbelieve (hypocrites) and who say to their brethren when they travel through the earth or go out to fight: …If they had stayed with us, they would not have died or been killed,‘ so that Allaah may make it a cause of regret in their hearts“ [Aal …Imraan 3:156]
This is what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade when he said, ’If anything happens to you, do not say, …If only I had done such and such, then such and such would have happened.‘ Say instead, …Qaddar Allaah wa maa sha‘a kaan (Allah decreed and what He wills happens), for …If only‘ opens the door to the Shaytaan“, i.e., it makes you vulnerable to grief and fear, which is harmful to you and is of no benefit. Know that whatever befalls you, you could not have avoided, and whatever does not happen to you, you could not have made it happen to you, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
’No calamity befalls, but by the Leave [i.e. Decision and Qadar (Divine Preordainments)] of Allaah, and whosoever believes in Allaah, He guides his heart“ [al-Taghaabun 64:11]
They said, this is a man to whom calamity happens, but he knows that it is from Allaah, so he accepts it and submits.
2.  When the word …if‘ is used to convey beneficial knowledge, such as the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):
’Had there been therein (in the heavens and the earth) aalihah (gods) besides Allaah, then verily, both would have been ruined“ [al-Anbiyaa‘ 21:22]
The second type is used to express love for goodness, such as saying, ’If only I had what so and so has, I would do what he does.“ Saying things like this is permissible.
The hadeeth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), ’If only he [Moosa] had had patience, so that Allaah would have told us more of what happened between them“ is of this nature, as is the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):
’They wish that you should compromise (in religion out of courtesy) with them, so they (too) would compromise with you“ [al-Qalam 68:9]
Our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) wished that Allah has told us more of their [Moosa and al-Khidr] story, and he mentioned that in order to point out his love for patience and the results that come from it, and the benefits that it can bring. There was no element of fear, grief or neglect of the duty of patience in the face of what has been decreed.
And Allaah knows best.

Does a magician charm the eyes of the audience or does his Sihr (sorcery) go beyond this

Does a magician charm the eyes of the audience or does his Sihr (sorcery) go beyond this?
Q 3: We heard that ticks are part of Sihr, as those who pull cars with their hair. Does a sorcerer only bewitch the eyes of the audience who sit with him or his Sihr exceeds to include the eyes of those who do not attend the show? Indeed, we watch on TV those who pull a car with their hair or mouth. We are not with them and are away from their sorcery. What does this mean? May Allah reward you!A: Sorcerers bewitch the audience who witness their Sihr. There may be devils that assist them in their Sihr but the audience can not see that because devils can see us but we can not see them.

Tricking the eyes is part of their sleight of hand such as pulling out a bird from their pockets, mouths, eggs, and so on. This kind of Sihr only bewitches people's eyes but the reality is different.

Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) says about the sorcerers of Pharaoh inSurah Al-A`raf: He [Ms (Moses)] said: "Throw you (first)." So when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people, and struck terror into them, and they displayed a great magic. A

llah (Exalted be He) also says inSurah Ta-Ha: They said: "O Ms (Moses)! Either you throw first or we be the first to throw?" [Ms (Moses)] said: "Nay, throw you (first)!" Then behold! their ropes and their sticks, by their magic, appeared to him as though they moved fast.

Pulling heavy things with a piece or two of one's hair may also be a form of sorcery that is done by the help of Satan while people can not see. Indeed, they pull these heavy matters and help him because devils have other ways with which Allah (Exalted be He) enabled them without being seen.

They do the same thing to help their human supporters. Allah (May He be Glorified and Exalted) says: O Children of Adam! Let not Shaitn (Satan) deceive you, as he got your parents [Adam and Haww‘ (Eve)] out of Paradise, stripping them of their raiments, to show them their private parts. Verily, he and Qabluhu (his soldiers from the jinn or his tribe) see you from where you cannot see them. Verily, We made the Shaytin (devils) Auliy‘ (protectors and helpers) for those who believe not.

We ask Allah for safety!

A Muslim should be a polite, lovable, good-mannered person, worshippers will be reminded on Friday.
“When Prophet Mohammed was asked about the truth of faith, he connected it to ethical manners,” Friday’s sermon says.
As a companion of the Prophet reported; he once went to Prophet Mohammed and asked him what is Islam? And the Prophet replied it is good speech and feeding food. Then the companion asked what is faith? “Patience and forgiveness,” came the reply. Then he asked which Islam is better. The Prophet said: “One whom Muslims were saved from his tongue and hand.” Then the companion asked which faith is better, and the Prophet replied: “a nice ethic”.
Therefore, one who seeks to fulfil his faith should love good for all people, “and love for them what he loves for himself”, continues the sermon.
As a hadith by Prophet Mohammed says: “None of you is a believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.”
Therefore, one should cleanse himself from envy and hatred, and treat people with wisdom and logic.
Islam teaches us to invest in building individuals and countries, and prohibits murder and conspiracy.
“And no building will rise, nor a foundation will be set if the hearts disputed and people thought bad of each other.”
It also requires that you treat each other with justice.
A verse from the Quran says: “ O ye who believe! Be steadfast witnesses for Allah in equity, and let not hatred of any people seduce you that ye deal not justly. Deal justly, that is nearer to your duty. Observe your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is informed of what ye do.”
