About the Course

Kalemah is pleased to introduce a one-year diploma in Islamic Studies, taught by Ustadh Muhammad Tim Humble. This course shall serve as a primer in most of the essential subjects of Sacred Knowledge.

While open to all, this course shall be most beneficial for Students of Sacred Knowledge and those involved in Calling to Islam. It is also an excellent starting point for aspiring Students of Sacred Knowledge or aspiring Callers to Islam.

By the end of this course, students will have a strong foundation in the following subjects, as well as have the tools and be properly oriented for continued study:

Etiquettes of Seeking Sacred Knowledge (Aadaab Talab al-Ilm)
Islamic Creed (Aqeedah)
Quranic Exegesis (Tafseer)
Law (Fiqh)
Fundamentals of Law (Usool Al-Fiqh)
Prophetic Traditions (Hadeeth)
Fundamentals of Prophetic Traditions (Usool Al-Hadeeth)
Prophetic Biography (Seerah)

The classical texts taught will be primers in each of the above subjects, widely used by beginners and advanced students alike during the course of their study.

The classes are structured so that students can complete the diploma in full by attending the Friday class alone. The Saturday class will provide additional knowledge for those students who can commit more of their time, and will facilitate the completion of an advanced diploma in the same subjects.

This course is for serious students who are willing to commit time and effort to attend classes punctually and consistently, complete all assignments and exams, engage in self-study and memorization.

About the Lecturer

Ustadh Muhammad Tim Humble is a graduate from the Faculty of Hadeeth Studies at the Islamic University of Madinah. Notably he is certified in the six canonical books of hadeeth. He has recently joined Kalemah as a full time teacher for the English Section. He travels the world lecturing & delivering courses on Islamic Sciences.

Important Notes-

Limited classroom space is available.
Places will be given to those who register online. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.
The deadline for registration is on 25th November 2014.
Classes will have breaks during Ramadan & Hajj season. Any changes to the schedule will be informed to the students well in advance.
Those who register but are not admitted into the class will be put on a waiting list, and will be allowed to attend as and when there are any dropouts.
Attendance will be taken regularly. Students found to be absent on a consistent basis (4 absences in a row) without having informed Kalemah of a valid excuse, shall be removed from the roster in order to make room for waiting list students.
