A Protection from Harm - A Forgotten Sunnah

Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said;

“Whenever you intend to leave your house you should pray two rak’ah right before you leave. These rak’ah will protect you from harm while outside. And when you come back home you should pray another two rak’ah. They will safeguard you from harm in your house.”

Shaykh Al-Albaanee [rahimahullāh] said in his Silsilah Saheehah 3/315:

“This isnad of this hadeeth is acceptable and the narrators are trustworthy men used by Bukhari.”

This hadeeth is mentioned in Al- Muntaqah (12/69/1), Al-Bazaar in his Musnad(81), Ad-Daylamee in his Musnad (1/1/108), and Abdul-Ghani in Akbar-As-Salaah(1/67 and 2/68).

“What is required of the son is to treat his parents kindly and honour them…even if they fell short with regard to his rights.”

Ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked about the Islamic ruling on a person whose father – as he says – did not play any role in his upbringing and did not give him any kind of care, even when he was an infant, despite the fact that the father could have spent on his child.
In this case is it still obligatory to uphold ties between the father and his son?
He replied:
Yes, the son is obliged to honour his father, acknowledge his rights and treat him kindly, even if the father did badly and even if he fell short. And the father has to repent to Allah for his shortcomings; he has to repent to Allah from his shortcomings with regard to his upbringing of his son, but this does not justify disobedience on the part of the son. Rather the son must honour his parents, even if they fell short with regard to his rights.
Allah says concerning the rights of the disbelievers, in the story of Luqmaan (interpretation of the meaning):
“but behave with them in the world kindly”
[Luqmaan 31:15],
even if they are disbelievers.
What is required of the son is to treat his parents kindly and honour them, and to interact with them in a nice manner, even if they fell short with regard to his rights.

This Eid rejoice while worshiping -Fatima Mustafa

This article before the Eid time is a reminder for me first and everyone and I pray Allah to grant us the understanding and ease of application. Ameen

Needless to enumerate what the "folk" Muslim (culturally educated)  does on Eid day?!  He/she creates “Havoc!”

What happens that day, Allah knows best!
Blame it on invested efforts in the parlor or the  dress  drama but it will  leave some  attending the Eid prayer late, negligently , or not at all to say the least, Subhanallah!

Also what is generally not missing on the table along with the udhiya (scarified animal meat) , is the “masala” news about the whole town if not beyond, all this depending on the strength of the tongues at waging war against fulan or fulan (this one or that one). Well… bad news the basket of Ajr just flew out of the windows, if you only knew how much!
I guess….needless to say more.
The real deal is this?!
What would you do if you knew that the most important day was not Isra wal Miraj, Laylatil Qadr, nor llyaum Arafat but Eid day? How much would it change from the careless behavior and sins of the tongue which seems to never find an exit May Allah grants all  understanding .

Well, good news this time ,"Eid day" is the most important day of all days of the years my dears and Subhanallah!

Here is what unfortunately happens but hopefully will change : few “bida” things such as visiting the graves on the two Eid days which not only is a total discrepancy ,against the teaching of the Prophet (saw) who prohibited  specifying a day on visiting graves but it also clashes with the joyful spirit of  Eid . It does not find its way to this graveyard  does it?

Another source of great fitna to say the least, can be found in the dressing code of our sisters from the Nanga Panga style (revealing) to the perfume wearing or makeup. While some go completely Hijab-less others dress the have-you-seen half-my hair -but- i- still think -I'm -covered kind of look  or the famous camel hump. As if the list  wasn't exhausted, you also find the sisters mixing and crowding with men in the prayer place and the streets when the etiquette would recommended the men to stay within the precinct of the Musalla and let the former (women) disperse first .Hasn't Allah said “Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to excel the other” [1]. Thus the males should take care of these details but how can it be so when some are sleeping late and missing the prayer or forsaking the jamaa’ah?  Except with a valid reason) it is really out of place?!!
Even more so when you will find them instead listening to singing, doing Haram or being in Haram places. May Allah save our Ummah and teach us Amen.

The solution is to pause for a minute during these precious days of worship, before the “hungama time” as some call it arrives and really ponder:
-Do we sincerely hope to achieve forgiveness of the past and future year sins?
-How can it be achieved when the most important day of all days we start it by disobeying Our Rabb?
Eid,  let us recall dear readers, is not only a day of rejoicing and family gathering ,but it is before all a day of worship  starting with the Khutbah and Eid prayer followed by a sacrifice called udhiya  .
-These very moments of Ebadah should be performed with tremendous care reminding ourselves of the endless favors of Allah upon ourselves and the manifestation of His blessings in our lives.
- Let us correlate this day in the Light of the Quran through the story of Ibrahim(عليه السلام( . By Alla's grace upon His Khalilullah, our beloved prophet Abraham (saw) the latter he did not have to sacrifice His son, long hoped for. Allah said :
( interpretation of the meaning )[2] We called out to him: “O Ibraaheem! You have fulfilled the dream!” Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinoon (good-doers). Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial. And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among the later generations. “Salaam (peace) be upon Ibraaheem!” Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinoon (good-doers). Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves.
-Let us Remember the infinite bounty and Ni’ma of Islam and the possibility Allah granted us to worship all these days of Thul hijja and other times and the special reward for worshiping on the day of Arafah as well as the importance of the  Eid day.
Whatever little good we have done  my dears we haven’t given the due right of Ebadah as  said the sinless angels to Allah Al Shakur though they are always abiding to Allah’s order.  thus “Where do we stand Subhanallah?!

-Remember that it is out of love care and Mercy that Allah has emptied our bags of sins and here we are on the day of Eid filling it back again?!
Let us ask none but ourselves what kind of gratitude is this? What is the aim ?
Yes dears Let us think about it until ....the day arrives InshAllah and let us not say a word except khayr …..

For we’ve have been warned!

HAJJ-The best supplication on the Day of ‘arafaat /Ahadith regarding the benefits and blessings of Hajj

The best supplication offered on the Day of ‘arafaat is that of the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam)
Laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamdu wahuwa ‘ala kulli shay-in qadeer
(There is no true God worthy of being worshipped except Allaah, alone, without any partners, to Him belongs the Kingdom, and all-praise is due to Him, and He is able to do all things).

HAJJ 001 Ahadith regarding the benefits and blessings of Hajj – Shaykh Al Albaani

Taken from ‘Saheeh al-Targheeb wa Tarheeb’By the Shaykh, ‘Allaama, the Muhadith Muhammad Nasr ud-Deen al-Albaani
Translated by Abbas Abu Yahya
It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Umar – radiAllaahu anhuma – who said:  I was sitting with the Prophet – sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam – in the masjidin Mina when a man from the Ansaar came and a man from the Thaqeef, they gave Salaam and said, “O Messenger of Allaah, we came to ask you questions.”
So the Messenger said:  “If you want I can inform you why you came and what you want to ask, and I will do so, and if you want I will hold back and you can ask me and I will answer you.”
They said:  “Tell us O Messenger of Allaah!”
The man from Thaqeef said to the Ansaari:  “Ask.”  So the Ansaari man said:  “Inform me O Messenger of Allaah!”
The Messenger of Allaah said:  “You came to me, to ask about leaving your house and aiming for the Bait-ul-Haraam and the reward for it; about praying two Rakahafter Tawaaf and the reward for it; going between as-Safa and Marwa and the reward for it; your staying the evening in Mina, and the reward for it; stoning theJamarah and the reward for it; slaughtering an animal and the reward for it; and the Tawaaf of al-Ifaadh.”
The man said:  “I swear by the One who sent you with the truth! This is what I came to ask you about.”
The Prophet said:
“As for you leaving your homes aiming for the Bait-ul-Haraam:  then your she-camel does not place its foot nor does it raise it except that Allaah writes for you a reward due to it, and wipes off one of your sins.
As for the two Rakah after the Tawaaf, then it is equivalent to freeing a slave from the Children of Ismaeel.
As for your circuiting of as-Safa and al-Marwa, then it is the same as freeing 70 slaves.
As for you staying till the evening in Arafah, then Allaah descends to the sky of the Duniya and He boasts about you to the Angels, and says:  ‘My slaves have come to Me, looking rough, from every deep valley hoping for My mercy, so if your sins were equivalent to the amount of sand or the drops of rain or like the foam on the sea I will forgive them.  So go forth My slaves!  Having forgiveness and for what or who you have interceded for.’
As for stoning the Jamaar (the pillars), then for every stone that you throw, it removes a big sin from the deadly sins.
As for your slaughtering, then it is saved for you with your Lord.
As for shaving your head, then there is a reward for every strand of hair that you shaved, and a sin is wiped off by it.
As for you performing Tawaaf of the House after all this, then by this time your are performing Tawaaf with no sin upon you and an Angel comes and places his hand between your shoulders saying: “Perform good deeds in what you face of the future for verily your past sins have been forgiven.”
Reported by at-Tabarani in his book “al-Kabeer” and by al-Bazaar. Shaykh Al-Albani graded it  Hassan.  Taken from ‘Saheeh al-Targheeb wa Tarheeb’.  Volume 2, Page 9-10, hadeeth no. 1112
All Praise belongs to Allaah, may His peace and blessings be upon our final Prophet Muhammad, his family, his companions and all those who follow his guidance.

ABU DHABI // Friday’s sermon will discuss the virtues of the 10 days of Dhu Al Hijja, which started on Tuesday.
These days hold a great importance in Islam and are considered some of the most important days of the year, alongside the last 10 days of Ramadan. These days are the most beloved to Allah because they combine more acts of worship than any other time, the sermon will say.
Ibn Abbas recounted that the Prophet Mohammed said: “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these 10 days.”
The people then asked him: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?” He replied: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause and came back with nothing.”
The Quran said that Allah even deemed these days worthy by devoting an oath to them – “By the Dawn and by the 10 Nights.”
The ninth day of Dhu Al Hijja, known as Day of Arafat, is the day when pilgrims stand on the Plain of Arafat to pray as they are performing their pilgrimage.
Many Muslims will spend the day fasting before the three days of festivity after Eid Al Adha, which is a celebration marking the end of the Haj commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness of sacrifice.
Abu Qatadah narrates that the Prophet Mohammed said regarding fasting during Arafat: “It expiates the sins of the past year and coming year.”
