Friday sermon will remind worshippers that education is a crucial in helping create a better nation.
“Teachers, you are blessed. For by your teachings, the children grow up with knowledge, and with your good dedication and the wisdom of your guidance you promote a developed home in society,” the sermon will say.
Education and knowledge mould the minds of the younger generation, while allowing them to fulfil their hopes and dreams, it will go on.
While it is vital that pupils study a wide range of subjects, it is most important that they have a knowledge of literature.
“As the mother of Imam Malik ibn Anas said...‘My son, go to the council of Rabea’a, and take from his literature before you take from his science,” the sermon will explain.
“So become, O’teacher, what Allah had wanted you to have in prestige in the society, and grow in the future generations what you would like to be happy with on Judgment Day, and know that the building of nations is linked to the building of humans. So teachers, do good in delivering knowledge and education so you can reap the fruits of what you have planted,” it will go on.
Pupils must also learn how to respect their teachers and address them correctly, as it will help them acquire knowledge.
“Those who learn also have a preferred status in community, and to apply science is the way to Paradise. The messenger of Allah, the Prophet Mohammed said: ‘Those who take the pathway to request knowledge, Allah will create a pathway towards Paradise.’”
Parents also have a crucial part to play in this, for it is up to them to encourage their children to be diligent and well-behaved students, the sermon will conclude.
