Friday sermon: Make the most of your life -ENGLISH TRANSLATION IN BREIF
Do not procrastinate, work hard and make the most of your time on Earth, worshippers will be told in this week’s Friday sermon.“Allah had made night and day – a miracle that indicates His greatness,” the sermon will say.
“[But] age is a limited span … and time is of great importance as Allah has sworn by it.”
The Quran states: “By the declining day, Lo! man is a state of loss. Save those who believe and do good works, and exhort one another to truth and exhort one another to endurance.”
The sermon will say that a wise person is one who takes advantage of his time and takes account of his actions.
But a scatterbrain is one who wastes his time with procrastination until he is surprised when death comes to him.
A verse from the Quran says: “But Allah reprieveth no soul when its term cometh, and Allah is aware of what ye do.”
By undertaking everyday tasks and actions with pure intentions, one can earn credit from Allah, worshippers will hear.
The Prophet Mohammed once said: “Actions are according to intentions, and everyone will get what was intended.”
So one needs to have good intentions when eating, drinking, getting dressed and going to work.
“So, you [should] work with perfection, serve the homeland and serve others’ needs, so Allah will serve your needs,” continues the sermon.
Parents should also pass this message on to their children by being good role models.
“Spare special time to sit with them, recognise their needs and share their hopes,” the sermon will say.
