The importance of saddaqa Jariya- through a child- Fatima Diaby

بسم الله الرمن الريم

News Has Come In That the Father of Sheikh Abdul Rahman Bin Abdul Aziz as Sudais Has Passed Away .Inna lillahi WA inna ilayhi Rajiun
Sheikh Sudais Himself Led and Was the Imaam for the Funeral Prayer for His Late Father the next day After the Fajr Prayer.
Now hearing such news we may think His son leads the prayer in the most blessed land on Earth for his father! Truly what a saddaqa jariya!!
The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); knowledge which is beneficial; or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (the deceased).” [Sahih Muslim]
Sadaqa jariya which means Continuous Alms/Charity is an action that someone does that remains active even after the person is dead.

Alhamdu lillah! Our Ummah is still concerned about what will become of them after this temporary life.Let us Be  of these parents such as the illustrious, virtuous and pious mother of Imam Bukhari who raised alone ,this greatest compiler of Hadith (narratives pertaining to the Prophet’s life and his sayings) that Islam has produced. He died at 40 years old but let behind an beautiful legacy.

Indeed to be a well constructed Ummah, but how can it be when we are confronted to many unnecessary problems like inward fighting backbiting, namimah, character assassination motivated by self promotion etc... It is impossible as we can only find ourselves in a limbo, between aspirations and despair! We claim to love Allah but do all the 'Amal soo toward His creation, which is our own fellow Muslims therefore how can a sadaqa jariya be possible?

The example of the past predecessors who worked with so much sincerity, positivity tolerance and good wishes toward others enabled them care for the very same ummah they belonged to. Out of this care they would pray educate and train this ummah to be the "khaleefah" Allah had promised to establish on earth, in real sense of this term.

Knock Knock." "It's Sadaqa e Jariyah here! Dear Parents and this loving address is a preparation of our own tomorrow!Remember that it lies in the education we give our children, at the earliest stages of their life’s, and even before Subhanallah!!

"Remember when the wife of 'Imran" , Mother of maryam (Alayhi Salam)made this Dua to Allah How she dedicated that which was in her womb to the service of the masjid/ temple she said : "My Lord, I have vowed to You whatever is in my womb, to be devoted [to Your service]. Please accept it from me. You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. Dua is the key.
She was thinking it would be a boy, but Allah gave her a girl." When she gave birth, she said: "My Lord! I have given birth to a girl"-and Allah knew very well what she had given birth to, male and female are not the same-" and I seek refuge with You (Allah) for her and for her offspring from Shaitan (Satan), the outcast.” ." (Surah Al 'Imran: 35-36)

Still she stayed truthful in her oath to Allah and took this child to be raised for the sake of Allah.
Similarly we should be truthful .'So her Lord (Allah) accepted her with goodly acceptance. He made her grow in a good manner and put her under the care of Zachariah (Zachariya). Every time he entered Al-Mihrab to (visit) her, he found her supplied with sustenance. He said: “O Maryam (Mary)! From where have you got this?” She said, “This is from Allah.” Verily, Allah provides sustenance to whom He wills, without limit.” (3:37)
Now the beneficial child, that myram (Alayhi Salam) was, with an unwavering faith and trust in Allah became a source of inspiration to Zakaryia (Alayhi Salam), who was himself old and had no kids. When she said “This is from Allah.”  He immediately secluded himself and made Dua to Allah Ar-Razzaq by saying. "My Lord grants me from your bounty, righteous offspring. Verily you are the One who is the hearer of supplications.” Our children too with the right input, could be enabled to assess, comprehend, and be advanced in the field of ideas as well as productive proactive Muslims who connect, engage and become pioneers and inspirations to be followed.

Allah being pleased with this exemplary MUSLIM WOMAN says “And when the angels said: "Maryam, Allah has chosen you and purified you. He has chosen you over all other women. Maryam, obey your Lord and prostrate and bow with those who bow." (Surah Al 'Imran: 42-43 )
To succeed Insha’Allah in securing Allah's pleasure concerning our children, allow them be the legacy of prophet Mohamed (saw)and be honored in this life and beyond, we have to Let them realize the importance of the correct intention in regards to any deeds; every action  should be Exclusively for the sake of Allah and not to please daddy or mommy. Tell me Riya Al ikhlas is never too far!!  Furthermore helping them discover the love Allah is the main drive! And obeying His commands is a prove of this love. This entails teaching them that the opposite will bring Allah's wrath and punishment ! If you are not the right path then you are certainly following the shaytan's footsteps.

. Subhanallah when Allah says" We breathed into her some of Our Spirit and made her and her son a Sign for all the worlds. (Surat al-Anbiya': 91) we  (subhana wa ta'la) His praises are certainly the best and the sweetest “and it is in the submission that the slave of Allah find his reason to live  We Have to learn through these ayah which indeed are sign for us if we reflect !
We also need to keep the firmness in our life as we all know eeman fluctuates. Then why not implore Allah to nurture us and them to perfection so that we may live a life that reflects the testimony of our love for Him (Subhanawa Ta'la).By Allah dear sisters and brothers only He can!
Not only The strength of our faith while imparting the correct Islamic education and knowledge to our children ( the one that is following the Quran and authentic sunnah of the prophet Mohamed (saw))  but also How we balance it out with the other diverse fields they study is  crucial !

Some of us have the misconception sometimes, that being in the deen excludes all other professions except an imam or a qari. But of  course we can raise our children to be  doctors, lawyers etc..Knowledge of the medical and judiciary field are encouraged in Islam and as communal obligation however nothing takes precedence over the responsibilities we have to assume individually. The right knowledge and understanding of kalamullah and the authentic prophetic teachings are Must! Indeed the highest of subject is the Quran and its most noble subject is Aquedah. If you have this right, then you are alaasiratalmustaqeem, not on the blog (lol), but literally!
So the bottom line is that this very deen should be the underlying characteristic incorporated and  reflected in every aspect of their life and in all these vocations in term of value, ethics etc...

We should include in our children' life the seerah in a fiqh aspect  and help them correlate practically the event of their life with that of our beloved prophet  (Sallahu alayh salam). It will allow them to deal with situations and extract the lessons instead of  a bedtime stories of events and dates to remember.

One more thing we have to realize what we are offering to our offsprings and protect their fitra and secure their minds, hearts from what Allah and his prophet forbade and dislike .One scholar pointed “If Shaytan (Satan) were to come to any parent proposing us to babysit our children, we would throw him out, “yet we allow the television set to do exactly that…we literally invite Shaytan in when we turn the TV on!”
So Part of what they do with who they do it with falls under our responsibility. Make sure they keep the right company and are exposed to the right environment or programs. Remember the hadith of the carrier of Musk! Make sure their companies doesn’t break this authoritative hadith nor that those influences around them are not counter attacks to all the values you are imbibing in them.

And if it is not enough remember the dua of a mother is always accepted and Allah sees all efforts. After all hasn't Ibrahim (Alay Salam) supplicated:"Our Lord! Accept (this service) from us: For Thou art the All-Hearing, the All-knowing. Our Lord! Make of us Muslims, bowing to Thy (Will), and of our progeny a people Muslim, bowing to Thy (will); and show us our place for the celebration of (due) rites; and turn unto us (in Mercy); for Thou art the Oft-Returning, Most Merciful." (Quran 2:125-128)

Remember If the input is rightly done with a lot of wisdom you will  see them set  their own alarm for prayers, having yaqeen in the dua they make, comforting you with Allah's Promise just like did myriam to Zachariah (Alay salam),  and sometime even reminding you about  Allah's commands or those ebada on your checklist!bi ithni llah
Subhanallah I know of children reminding their parents when they forget their morning or evening supplication!

You may be thinking how am I going to do all of that?  But remember the beautiful Ustadha Eman al Obaid's words when she says “Who says you can do it"? Allah will! So Put your Tawakkul in Allah.
Ask Allah's help in these matters and come to term with your dissatisfaction concerning your weakness in achieving it all and render to Allah the Magnificent praises for every success concerning your children InshALLAH.

Allah knows Best
